Parents & Young Children of Budapest – ATTENTION PLEASE!
We have found something that you are just going to LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Sing Along Kids has arrived and is already bringing joy, laughter, fun and happiness to the young children of Budapest – and to their parents and caregivers too!SinceSeptember 2016 the Sing Along Kids classes have been enjoyed by so many enthusiastic participants: don’t you think it’s your turn to join in the fun as well?
Opera singer and mother of two young children, Cleo Mitilineou sang solo at the Hungarian State Opera House for 15 years. So each session is kind of like a bonus front-row pass to the highest quality voice possible. Originally from Cyprus but now well established in Hungary and definitely calling Budapest ‘home,’ Cleo’s credentials are quite beyond those of your regular early childhood singing teacher’s:
- Master’s Degree in Singing and Teaching and in Opera, from the highly celebrated ‘Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest
- Associate Diploma in Piano from the London College of Music (Thames Valley University)
- Winner of several international singing competitions
- Countless significant roles at the Hungarian State Opera House
To add to all this and to further reinforce her new passion, Cleo has now started a degree at Budapest’s ELTE University to become a qualified pre-school teacher. Now that’s what we call dedication!
Cleo speaks three languages fluently – Greek, English and Hungarian – and loves most of all the joy of seeing children and their parents/ caregivers experience the pleasure and happiness that sharing music and movement together brings. When not inspiring Budapest’s youngest generation, Cleo sill performs occasionally and also teaches individual Singing and Piano lessons.
Much more than just a song and dance!
The Sing Along Kids sessions are a dynamic combination of fun, interactive singing, music and movement activities for babies and toddlers from 4 months to 3 years. The lessons are professionally designed to develop:
• motor, sensory and social skills
• balance, coordination, strength
• knowledge of music and rhythm
• English language skills and vocabulary
Each child gets their own individual instrument basket (including e.g. rhythm sticks, bells, maracas, tambourine…), and at the end of the session Cleo performs a little concert on the recorder and on the guitar. In between, all kind of props, colourful balls, puppets, fluffy animals, parachute and even bubbles are used to stimulate and further encourage the children to get involved.
All of this takes place in a relaxed, welcoming, participative and highly positive atmosphere which ensures that classes are also a great opportunity for expat parents and caregivers to make new friends and join a supportive community!
Classes are available at several different locations spread conveniently between Buda and Pest, so why not get along now and take this opportunity to meet new friends for you and your child, whilst (re)discovering the joy of singing, music and movement. ENJOY!
